Users don't know what staff does most of the time because we talk about it in dms, not publicly. So they have no business saying who should be mod or not when they don't even know what's going on or what they do. And it's not really their business anyway.
I think you can answer simply if Faux80sGuy does any moderating or not. It is without question that Daniel the Hobo did moderating around here, albeit it was heavy-handed at most times. The issue was with IKOL. I was unsure if he did any moderating either besides bullying my fair lady Ishtar. It seems like their mod titles are more for protection from other moderators or entirely for show. This small forum has about 1 third as many moderators as Kiwifarms who has a user base that is easily hundreds of times greater.
As it should be. I don’t care how you make the sausage. When I decide it’s my business and bitch and complain and make some noise about it, it’s probably over something way more fucked than what you jerk or jill off to.
I was always told a good manager will shield their team from dysfunctional bullshit that goes on above my pay grade or my need to know. It’s good to be trusted with someone’s problems but it’s not always professional.
