Western Europe Censorship in Germany

If they go for the German scat porn there will probably be another Reich.

Polizei shows up at your door and issues fines in Germany if you call a big-name politician a blockhead. And all but 1 political party regularly collude with each other and often try to ban said political party in addition to state-sponsored harassment of their members. It is just Russia with a liberal coat of paint.

This is the problem with hate speech laws.

Some people like to think of the most sane and good reasons for whatever laws these politicians come up with. But we should be a little more creative, and anecdotes, litteraturer (1984 and the likes) do help.

I also hear some folks talk about China, I do sometimes too, but that shouldn't be limited to an exercise of feeling good about ourselves. China should be a cautionary tale of what our nations may become if we're not on our guard. I watch The China Show on YouTube, and what nobody brings up is that there are many parallels between what's going on in China in terms of authoritarian tendencies and some western countries. Obviously, it hasn't gotten as extreme, yet, but it's partially there.

In the end, I think we get the government that we deserve. If selfishness, cowardice and the lack of care for the truth and justice permeates through society, then consequences will follow. Everyone of us is a vanguard preventing those consequences, and the current state of things is a reflection of how we're doing.
