Taqiya was not practiced by all Muslims. It was known among the Shia sect, not the Sunni sect. It basically means that you can keep your faith secret if revealing your status would put the your life or the lives of others in danger.

It's not the radical idea that a lot of people would make it out to be. Keeping things private for basic self-preservation is a basic part of human nature.

Think of crypto-christian (underground churches) in a lot of countries where public profession could expose you to state hostility. In countries such as Saudi Arabia you have crypto-christians who publicly profess to be Moslems but keep their Christian faith secret.

We used to have a phrase that we would look over at the medics and yell. "This one's not going to make it". The rules of engagement clearly state that if they are down and can't fight anymore our medics are supposed to work on them. But the code was "this one's not going to make it" and it meant "you leave this: motherfucker here. If he's not going to die from his wounds I'm going to hit him again so I make sure he does"

There's a morality line that these animals will cross and they don't care. You know my grandpa raised me like I was his son and he taught me something from when he was killing Nazis.... No women no children. Ever. No women no children. It was the unspoken rule.

I don't care if America completely fell and we were being run by the most evil dictator of all time... I would never even think to use your baby as an explosive. That's DISGUSTING.
