Nigerian actress Omotunde Adebowale-David, known as Lolo 1, has publicly revealed her experience of sexual assault by a male colleague during a podcast, sparking critical discussions on the stigma surrounding such incidents.

Lolo emphasized the emotional and psychological challenges survivors face, including self-blame and societal judgment, particularly when deciding whether to speak out.

In her words: "I remember how many of those things I have to relive. I have been raped only once in my life, and I was raped by a colleague. I see him every other day. Do you know how traumatised I am? When I see him, I just get into this momentary panic."

Her courageous act of sharing her story highlights the ongoing issues of victim-shaming and the complexities surrounding the disclosure of sexual assault experiences.
