Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune: President of Algeria

The Algerian presidency swiftly reacted to the death of Princess Lalla Latifa, the mother of King Mohammed VI, by posting a message of condolences from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on its Facebook page on Saturday, June 29.

«I learned with sadness the news of your mother's passing. In my name and in the name of the Algerian people, I address you, Majesty, to express my sincere condolences», wrote the Algerian President.

It is worth noting that the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a message of condolences to Morocco following the earthquake in Al Haouz on September 8, 2023.

The breakdown in relations between the two neighboring countries in August 2021 ended official correspondence between King Mohammed VI and President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
