Don't listen to people who say JavaScript is a programming language. It purely exists to trick trannies and web designers into thinking they know how to program.
I'll ban people who shit up the chat when they cause problems. I'm not doing some Twitch tier shit and getting rid of people because of shit that happened outside of the OF.
No we can't. The site is behind a reverse proxy and the HTTP server doesn't have mod_remoteip so it just shows the IP of the reverse proxy when checking.
Post must have software in this thread.
I'll get started.
Transmission, the only BitTorrent client anyone should ever consider using. It's no nonsense and straight to the point.
VLC, easily the best video player out there.
Firefox + uBlock Origin is a match made in heaven.
JetBrains IDEs for...
You get it for a lifetime but you shell out for a renewal if you want to keep receiving updates which I assume will be needed if XF ever gets updated and doesn't maintain backwards compatibility with add-ons.
How the fuck have you been living? We live in an age where every website is a 400k LoC React JavaScript abomination that uses more memory than some AAA computer games.
Computer graphics have achieved the point where any innovation isn't that big of a leap so it isn't impressive. It's not like PS1 to PS2 for example where the difference is night and day.
I think that while everyone is entitled to freedom of speech I think that it's a big thing to ask for in a forum. If you allow people to say anything in any manner you're going to end up like /pol/ and nobody in the history of ever has liked /pol/. I think that freedom of opinion is a better...
Hannah Montana Linux is the best distro, hands down. The wiki is a gem and you never need to worry about bloatware. I implore everyone this thread to use HM Linux if anyone here is considering to use Linux.
The Game Awards are also soon. I think TLOU2 is going to win GOTY and if it does it deserves it, it was nowhere near as bad as the public made it out to be and while it was miserable I appreciate it as a video game, I guess. I'm a massive id Software fanboy so I really want DOOM Eternal to win...
Beat me to it! I was just making this thread.
These past 2 months have been big for gaming! A new console generation, and a fuckload of new games are coming out.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales is probably one of the best superhero games out there today, I think it surpasses Spider-Man PS4 by a lot...
We're best off steering away from stickers, you end up with the reddit problem where people don't bother to have dissenting opinions because they will get negrated, and once people see opinions they disagree with they just rate it Autistic/Disagree/Dumb and don't bother to discuss it which is...
I'm starting to get to the point in my life where I need to decide if I'm pursuing tertiary education before getting a job and such and I feel extremely pressured to get a programming/comp sci/programming related degree but I can't help but feel that spending multiple years churning through...
I noticed that there's no hardware thread so I'll start one.
Here's some topics that you can flame war about:
- Ray tracing: is it a meme? (I've seen ray tracing first hand on the PlayStation 5 and in its current state it is nothing to be excited about)
- Apple's M1 chip
- Will Big Navi save...
Yeah, I remember when first doing programming I was using stuff like Python amongst other high level languages and I had no idea how anything fucking worked under the hood, to me it was just magic, which it is. I didn't know shit about memory or anything that any good programmer needs to know...
I'm going to make a programming thread as there isn't one at the moment.
If you don't program and want to get into it, I recommend reading The C Programming Language, it's quite dated and you probably won't be using C any time in the near future because most companies don't use it anymore but...
