I've actually never seen anyone but metalheads simp for Varg. Still Varg is quite exceptional for how much he got into black metal, and black metal's community is known for being a bit edgy. I'll share a highlight.

I’m sorry I got a chime in. I had a similar experience in my childhood. My parents didn’t deny me, but they didn’t actively encourage me to do boy stuff. My cousin had a skateboard. She was a girl and her parents bought it, for I tried to ask my parents for a skateboard, and they said no because my balance was off, and I probably would lose interest in it.
Sometimes there were jokes on oh this is girly stuff. Oh that’s just for the boys, boys versus girls jokes but it was simple humor and I don’t think anybody’s feelings got hurt.
My cousin, who was into a lot of boy stuff her parents got her, like I said, a skateboard, and a bunch of other things, but she grew up to be a strong, independent woman.
