You can die like that, having your last thought be “It could’ve been great.”. But why should you?

The joke is that of course people who can afford hospice care can say that, the guy dying of a drug overdose or a bullet wound or kills themselves don't get to have those sorts of confessions and probably would say something along the lines of "i really wish i did what others told me instead of being selfish"

Well if you’re dying of a gunshot wound or overdose then ya you definitely messed up in a way that’s objectively harmful. The subject is whether you should be yourself without killing yourself.

What if someone wants to live the life of child killer?

Then don’t. It’s not just about you anymore at that point.
