Drama within the Youtube Commentary Community is really nothing new to be honest.
The Youtube Commentary Community is one of the oldest factions of the Youtube community (it's been part of Youtube since back in the days when people would make Youtube videos using Windows XP's Windows Movie Maker or Apple's iMovie because most people couldn't afford Sony Vegas for video editing back in the day; this was in the days when Smosh and nigahiga were at their peak). But the Youtube Commentary Community is also one of the most lolcow prone as well.
One of the first communities I would discover on Youtube would be the Commentary Community where I would discover there are people that would talk about a variety of topics (politics, religion, world events, tech, pop culture, etc) and I've seen many people come and go since the old school days of Youtube (this is also the same community where I would discover people like Mister Metokur back when he was Jim 81Jim).
But the Commentary Community is also where a lot of drama on Youtube happened back in the day. Out of the many communities on Youtube, the Commentary Community was the most drama proned and I've seen many people come and go over the years because of drama (far more drama happened within the Commentary Community than communities like the Sonic the Hedgehog fanbase at the time which says a lot because the Sonic fanbase back in the day was really spergy so you know it's bad when there was more drama in the Commentary Community than there was in the Sonic fanbase back then).
Turkey Tom comes from that era of Youtube where drama happened a lot within the Commentary Community but most came out unscathed and still did their thing. I guess Turkey Tom never got the memo that this isn't 2008 anymore and being a Youtube Commentator is no longer a shield from being held accountable anymore because the Internet has changed a lot since then.
