I feel for you honestly, dude. It’s late so I’m shit at formulating my thoughts but I totally get what you mean, Kiwi culture demands you to care about certain things that most people just don’t. But if you don’t you’re (insert accusation here). I can sorta relate, I can’t sleep in silence so I usually play YouTube videos as I sleep. For a good while I’d use Kiwitapes and Smokey’s videos, I wasn’t a fan of monetizing lolcow content but man I just didn’t fucking care. But apparently to kiwis that’s a sin upon mankind and Brenden and Smokey must secretly be child predators. (I don’t watch them anymore purely cause their content has gotten a bit same-y and bland.).
Truth be told however, half of the kiwifarm’s extreme admonishment comes from them hiding what they actually dislike about the person. Smokey and Kiwi? They claim it’s because they’re encouraging harassment and blahity blahity blah, but really it’s cause they’re making money off of stealing kiwi threads. 4lung? They claim it’s like ohhh he’s a diaperfur and blah blah, it’s cause he’s a transgender furry. Obviously I don’t like diaperfurs but come on, if 4lung was a cis man who made completely normal techno then the thread wouldve been significantly less active.
Speaking of 4lung, it’s that guy with the yellow dog character, right? I have to say I always liked his art. They gave off a fun and chaotic vibe. Never actually listened to his music though.
I think Jack ultimately was right when it comes to lolcow culture where there’s something seriously fundamentally wrong with it. I feel like there’s times where it’s acceptable, but kiwis often cross that line. Obviously that’s their prerogative, it’s whatever, just be glad we’re here where we can acknowledge the flaws in cyberstalking mentally ill people, and even acknowledge the most controversial fact, that maybe a lot of lolcows end up doing horrible stuff because knowing there’s thousands of people following your every move is a bit sanity breaking?
