Fatshley you fucking brain dead retard I have stated multiple times that the homeless shelter I stayed in for several months was overall a decent experience. It was a faith-based organization that turned me away because I wasn't "trad" enough (not that they said so but it was only after meeting me in person and seeing my short hair that they were suddenly 'not accepting new clients', which, yeah, I can see the forest for the trees lol). The shelter I stayed in immediately accepted me, granted me privileges after I proved good behavior for a while, made sure I felt safe by kicking out a weird guy that bothered me, and celebrated with me when I finally got a job and housing. It wasn't "great" because sleeping on the floor of a community center basement is never "great" but I heard much worse horror stories.
A lot safer than sleeping on the street.
I knew a bunch of people who primarily camped and would only come into the shelter if there was some drama outside or the weather was too bad and the stories they told me were crazy. And this was one specific camp that was "clean" (no hard illegal drugs like fentanyl or coke or heroin). One dude I was friends with said I should come join the camp and I was like :/ I'm good. I like solid roofs thank u very much.
