By now, everyone has that has been involved in the online culture wars (which is literately like 90% of the Internet these days as the political climate has become very volatile) is likely aware of how things have gone these days.
Long before #GamerGate happened, words like 'Nazi' and 'Bigot' and 'Racist' and so on actually held a lot of power and meaning because if you were going to use these words to accuses anyone of those things then usually you had evidence to back it up. Both the Online Left and the IRL Left committed the fatal mistake of overusing these terms because they thought they could shame their political opponents away only for their political opponents to come back a lot stronger. Now and days, if some Leftoid calls someone a racist, most people will probably think that the person that was accused of being a racist has probably criticized Islam or something.
The same can be said about the word "Pedophile". Yeah that word carries a lot of power because it's used to describe someone that wants to hurt kids in a sexual manner. However, given how the Internet will platform just about any retard on the planet, sadly the word 'Pedophile' will join words like 'Nazi', 'Racist', and 'Bigot' because retards on the Internet think they can shame their opponents (political or not) this way and not realize they're making the exact same mistake the Leftoids made with other buzzterms. Is the person that is being accused by retards on the Internet a pedophile? Oh, the person is just into weeb shit no one cares about and the retards making these pedophile accusations are being annoying attention seekers.
When I was a kid, one of the stories that they taught us back in elementary school was a story called 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf' which was about an annoying boy in a village that cried wolf and when the villagers came to genuinely help the kid, they just found out that the boy found it amusing that they actually came for a wolf that wasn't there and he would respond with basically 'It's just a prank bro!' afterwards. Eventually the villagers stopped paying attention to the boy because he was known as an annoying attention seeker and when a wolf showed up for real, the boy cried wolf and no one came to help him because the village assumed he was just pranking them again and the boy sealed his own fate by the end of the story.
When the day comes that the word pedophile becomes another buzzterm that becomes background noise for most people, communities like Kiwi Farms will have themselves to blame.
