This is true but the problem of just reading threads is that half the posts are fanfiction.
So you have to read a 200 page thread where 50% of the posts are fanfiction and 25% is repeated information to see if a so called lolcow has done anything funny.

i wouldn't say it "matters" but its like TV Without Pity in the 2000s, if enough people in the right sectors give a fuck then suddenly its a big deal because it forces changes on the rest of us.
