Our website was compromised. It was the worst hack we ever suffered. Someone wanted my head on a platter and wanted this website taken down very badly.

Someone snuck in through a backdoor on a WordPress plugin. This was a pretty sophisticated attack.

Yeah, the search function is fucked too. As for messages, if it doesn't go through the first time, try refreshing, that usually will post your comment, but you have to do it every time.

Regardless of what was the reason behind the hack (my best bet is a KF user that didn't liked us talking shit about them) then my recommendation is change your passwords, change your emails (also delete your old email address after you've transfered everything to a new email address), never use an email address connected to your real world identity, always use a VPN when browsing the Internet 24/7 (or at least use McDonald's or Starbucks Wifi), and always use a good password manager like Bitwarden.
Practice Good OPSEC because you don't know what malicious actors are capable of.
They do take stuff like this very seriously so I recommend talking to the feds with a good lawyer present, I'm sure the feds will find who did it because whoever did it broke federal law.
