During the week of August 21st, the Russian deputy defense minister Alexander Fomin and the Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Forces Kioumars Heydari were consulting with each other about military cooperation when Iran’s military brass visited Moscow.

Russian Ground Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleg Salyukov and Commander of the Iranian Army Ground Forces Kioumars Heydari also discussed issues of military cooperation aimed at raising the combat readiness of both country’s armed forces.

Iran’s supply of lethal drones to Russia in its war with Ukraine is projected to take an upswing with a new manufacturing facility in Russia assembling the drones that were initially designed by Iran. The facility is projecting an output of at least 6,000 drones and is part of a $1billion investment agreement between the two countries.

In addition, the Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin had also visited Tehran for talks about increasing military cooperation between the two countries via a “formation of a join commission for military cooperation between the two countries” as reported by the Islamic Republic News Agency.

Here is another little gem:

Lukashenko said he had observed “with great respect the perseverance with which the (Iranian) people resist external pressures, attempts to impose the will of others on them.”

“And I see that, despite everything, you are developing modern technologies and nuclear energy,” he added about Iran’s contested nuclear program which has sparked tough international sanctions against the country.
