The Wednesday star took to Instagram Stories to express grief over recent ICE enforcement actions in L.A., which have sparked mass protests and unrest in the city. “The world is crying all over,” Ortega wrote. “People in Los Angeles are being torn away from their everyday lives & love... The ones they've built so tirelessly over the years, just like you.”
She extended her message to other global crises, including ongoing conflict in the Middle East, referencing innocent civilians in Iran and the Israel-Gaza war: “Palestinian cries are still being buried in every day media. My thoughts are heavy, my heart follows.”
Ortega encouraged her 40+ million followers to stay engaged: “Never stop paying attention... Listen to one another & love, but be angry too. Educate yourself as best you can. To say this doesn't concern you, or that it isn't your problem, is a privilege under abuse.”
Her statement was posted on the same day as nationwide “No Kings” rallies, many of which criticized President Donald Trump and his administration’s immigration policies.
