Is DDG Walking on Thin Ice in Italy?

Rapper and content creator DDG has officially been granted permission to visit his son Halo in Italy—but under strict conditions that have fans wondering: Is this a father-son reunion or a legal minefield waiting to explode? Following a heated custody dispute with singer and actress Halle Bailey, a Los Angeles court ruled on June 26 that DDG could see his 18-month-old son for a limited three-day window, from July 1–3, during Bailey’s film shoot in Rome. But there’s a catch, several, in fact.

Under the court order:
  • No overnights.
  • Supervised visits only and not by DDG’s mother, as he requested. Instead, Bailey’s team will send her nanny and private security to monitor all interactions.
  • No social media posts involving Halo.
  • No travel beyond a 3-mile radius from the designated meeting area.
  • Hotel locations must be shared between both parties.

Tension flared during the hearing after DDG’s legal team objected to Bailey’s nanny serving as a supervisor, specifically because she could later be called to testify in court. The judge dismissed those concerns, keeping the nanny on duty and leaving DDG under scrutiny. The court-mandated visit comes after Bailey was awarded temporary sole custody of Halo earlier this year, citing allegations of domestic violence and inconsistent support from DDG. She also holds a restraining order against the rapper, making this brief Italian reunion even more delicate.

A remote mediation is set for August 8, with the next in-person court date scheduled for August 20, and with each legal move playing out in public, the drama between DDG and Halle Bailey is far from over.
