They shot a great speaker of the right wing, a father of 2 at 31 years old. While I didn't always see eye to eye with him politically, I'm still shaken by the news online about his death, especially on X. I was stunned when I read it. They shot him. They shot the moderate.

Seriously though when I first read a news title that said "Kirk got shot," I was like "lol waht's new this is America," but then another news said he was killed, I was like "oh shit."

To get back on topic, I didn’t know who Kirk was until today. Was on the way home from classes and the radio was talking about the stuff he’s done, he sounded like a great guy. I can’t wrap my head around why he would be a target other than the fact that he was influential. But he was most likely influential because he was a great guy.

He was definitely a hard line Republican but he would let people speak and would debate them with respect. Currently if they can't find the shooter I don't put cartel involvement outside the realm of possibility. The dude spoke out on multiple occasions against fentanyl and human trafficking, and was a vocal opponent of the cartels.

From my eyes viewing the video that somebody sent me, that did not look like amateur hour. That was someone with military experience. Put it in perspective I could never make a shot like that. That's ASI B4 shit (designated sniper) I was just 11B (infantry) so I couldn't hit the side of a barn from 20 ft away with a sniper rifle lol.

It takes skill and finesse to make a shot like that, and you get that through military training, which unfortunately a lot of cartel members got from us back in the day.

I'm almost sure he was shot in the carotid and spine but my secondary theory is that he was wearing a Kevlar vest and the bullet bounced off and went in an upward trajectory into his neck. The quality of the video is poor but I'm going with the former for right now. Either way they definitely hit the carotid because that was an arterial spray that came out, judging by the amount of blood and how dark it was.

Uhh I don't think that makes sense
Soft bulletproof vests that you can hide such as with kevlar cant deflect bullets, they just stop them from penetrating
Also even if he somehow were wearing plates, I feel that it would be more likely for the bullet to expand on impact with them rather than bounce
