KOSA did passed in the Senate last year but died in the House due to Mike Johnson having concerns about how the law could easily be abused by state AGs to censor speech to "protect children" (the last iteration of the law gave a lot of broad powers to state AGs that could've allowed them to censor even political content they didn't like to "save the children").

I'm not even sure if KOSA has a chance this time around because there is a clearly growing voice in Congress that opposes to what the UK is doing (notably Ohio representative Jim Jordan sounding the alarm). Given how the UK is abusing their new law to even censor political speech, there's a good chance that KOSA will once again die in Congress because the UK is being really retarded right now.

All governments, of all flavours, want speech to be silenced and banned. With the exception of none.
The UK used both sides to argue about how bad OSA is and then both sides pushed for it to be instated. It won't go back and no political leader will want it removed because it benefits them.

EU have already announced they will be censoring the internet next year. MS are all over it. US, AUS, NZ and Canada will follow. Censoring the internet has been a goal for 10+ years and it's here. ALL VPNS do is give NGO's and corporations an excuse to sell your 'anonimised' data to the highest bidder. Everyone wins except the plebs. A tale as old as time.

There's been some talks within Labour that they also want to ban (or at least heavily restrict) VPNs as well because they're well aware that even kids can download a free VPN and spoof their location to still gain access to content.

So if that kind of talk occurs, it may make the U.S. become more hesitant to go through with this. At least I hope so.

There's also a chance that the U.S. may just scrap KOSA due to the UK becoming more anti-Israel anyway.

The restricting of VPNs won't happen because government and WFH relies on it. Putting a backdoor in VPNs for the gov to snoop on could happen though.

The US are the ones who were doing the NSA spying on their people at home and abroad. To be able to do that legally in order to stop terrorists or jan 6th or more dead george floyds will be music to the ears of the uniparty.

The anti israel is a smokescreen. The west invaded countless countries for less than what israel are doing yet it is just strong words.

Nobody likes what the credit card companies are doing, nobody really likes what the UK is doing, nobody likes that the world's Elites are doing.

I kind of get his point, interacting with kids without their parents kind of works against the whole "stranger danger" thing even if it's online. It's not even about any implication of impropriety, it's about reinforcing the concept that kids should be peers with other kids, not adults.
Modeling good behavior for children is incredibly important, even if they're not someone you know, and even if that modeling involves not interacting with them. Kids don't really understand boundaries, and so between a child and adult, the responsibility of maintaining the child's boundaries and what is appropriate does fall to the adult.

That's my take anyhow, idk how he reasons about it.

Talking online =/= being a peer

Sometimes kids need adult perspectives. I saw a kid online once who was struggling with transitioning, I told him he wasn’t trans but rather just wasn’t hypermasculine and that’s ok. I can’t imagine his parents getting mad at me telling him he’s not trans. Do you know how many minor only spaces he could’ve fallen into that would’ve told him he was?
I don’t think minors and adults should be best friends online, I don’t believe minors should be online at all. But I think prohibiting all interaction despite the fact that anyone under 17 shouldn’t have a single social media account isn’t productive, interaction is important because anyone under 17 shouldn’t have a single social media account. The adults need to be there to tell the kids to be safe or just fucking leave. I’ve told kids online to stop posting their sh scars, get out of NSFW spaces, stop online dating, delete their accounts. This is stuff other kids just won’t tell them.

Again, I’m not advocating for adults and kids to be besties online, just that prohibiting any interaction outside of DMs is very iffy to me.

Furthermore on playing games with kids, just reminded me of this

Theres this E for everyone game I like that has a large minor fanbase, but I know a good chunk of adults who play it frequently. I’d say the amount of minors and adults in it is evenly split. I used to host parties on it back in freshman college for obscure ships, pretty much we’d get in the game and make the characters kiss and complain about the fact that we don’t rule the fanbase. I eventually stopped hosting them cause I realized it was mostly kids joining them. It’s not like I felt it was predatory, I just have no interest in partying with children. I think that’s another factor, most adults naturally don’t want to hang out with children beyond what’s necessary.

I'm still convinced that Dyn is a Null sock. At the very least, he is in Null's inner circle.
I saw a schizo conspiracy theory going around DM chains for a while that Dyn was actually running the Lidl account for some unknown reason.
I was hoping Josh trying to get some BPfat pussy would lead to a massive explosion, and the TERF's would leave KF which would instantly make it a better site to use.
