For those of you who don't know who this guy is, he is João Lourenço (the current President of Angola). He is chairman of the MPLA (The People's Movement for the Liberation of Angola).

He became President of the country after the MPLA took the most seats in general elections.
According to the 2010 constitution, "the individual heading the national list of the political party or coalition of political parties which receives the most votes in general elections... shall be elected President of the Republic and Head of the Executive" (Article 109). That's how it works over there.

Back in January 2020 he embarked upon a crusade against the Dos Santos political family ( Jose Eduardo dos Santos had served as the second longest running president in Africa ruling Angola from 1979 to 2017, as well as being one of the most corrupt regimes in Africa).

So what's been currently going on with Mr. Lourenço? Well, Angolans are turning to social media to give him a piece of their mind.
