Originally named ?Rio dos Camaroes? (River of Shrimp) due to the abundance of what is now called the Cameroon Ghost Shrimp found in the Wouri River. Central Africa. Population is midway between Florida and Texas. About 12% larger in area than California. Has been called Africa in miniature. Both French and English are official languages though French is by far predominant. Mt Cameroon. Agriculture 70% of labor force, industry 13%, commerce 17%. In 2018, 56.37% of the population is urban (equivalent to Arkansas in 2010). Cameroon per capita income averages about 4.5% that of the United States.
